why?

because i had no idea about some of the companies ties with the nazis. i knew about VW, but some of the others were like whoa. this issue affects me pretty deep as my brother is jewish (different fathers).

its not like the people that run the companies today had anything to do with that.

its the fact they dont own up to the past in most cases. those who dont learn from mistakes and accept responibility are doomed to repeat them. like how germany bans the teaching of history about nazis. just silly

to deny the past and not face it is just as bad as what happend and lessens the impact of the tragedy. this is why jews have worked so hard to make sure no one ever forgets. and, like the article said, some of these companies have been sued for their involvement and lost. i was going to make the slavery analogy, but you beat me to it. as you know, just because we didnt have anything to do with it, it still affects all of us today. there are some things that should never be forgotten or marginilized. im not saying we have to apologize for the mistakes of the past, but we do have to acknowledge them and make every effort to not repeat them. by saying we had nothing to do with it and denying it happend, it only perpetuates the mindset of ignorance
