what do you think are the 5 most underrated deftones songs??
oh, and put down an explanation if possible
heres mine:
-Pink Maggit( the surpirise when i first heard it.. awesome!)
-Deathblow(that song gives me goosebumps.. chino sounds as if he's pouring his heart out. the guitars are very atmospheric)
-The Chauffeur (eventho its a cover, love the way chino's voice sounds)
-Boys Republic (love the intro)
-Damone (nobody ever speaks of this song.. stephs riff for the verses is the shiznit, simple as it may be)
definatly pink maggit
I personally listen to Good morning beautiful alot (great bridge)
Lhabia (prob 5th best on the album)
Feiceteria... great opening song for the best deftones album
Around the Fur... this song haunts you

good morning beautiful - the first song i fell in love with on s/t. I couldn't believe at the time that it was never a staple of live sets.
feiteceira - ok it's always played live but for me this is THE quintessential deftones song. It has everything. Stef's licks, frank working his magic, searing vocals that all come together in a crescendo. fantastic concept behind the song too and a great way to open up the album.
Street Carp - also a song that sums the deftones up in a nutshell
Needles & Pins - i love it. It's like Shove It part 2.
Damone - fucking awesome. should be properly on ATF instead of the guff that is ricketts
Here we go ...
Teenager (beautiful as hell !)
Rickets ( Heavy, fast and Chino's whispering vocal, nice ...)
Moana (Hated and neglected by many, but it really isn't that bad, imho)
Pink Maggit (woah ... Just ... Wow ...)
Good Morning Beautiful (Great riff, lyric, etc ...)

I really hope you don't see it that way.
Lovers (Someday live?)
FIST!!!!!! (hoping someday they will play full live version)
Rickets
Damone
Boys Republic
mx - one of my favs
damone - awesome song
crenshaw! - another one of my favorites... dk why this wasnt on ATF
moana - seems like a lot of people don't like this... i don't think it's one of their best, but it's much better than what it's given credit for
feiticeira - definitely in my top 5 deftones songs
Damone - Only bad thing about this song is the long pause before it.
The Boy's Republic - Smooth, just keeps flowing and going and going and going...
Simple Man - The softness, the chilliness, the chorus, the solo...
Nightboat - Though the quality ain't too good, the chorus is just great.
Pink Maggit - Atmospheric.
Also, Venison and Plastic are great.

there's a perfect quality version of nightboar out now. they sold it on itunes i think. i'm pretty sure i even downloaded the full version on deftonesworld.com when b-sides and rarities came out
my top 5 (only one i'm gonna explain here though is the first one)
Querk (God's Hands) - even better than the like linus demo version is the live version from the 1992 san jose bootleg (i think thats the one). abe kicks a solid beat on the drums and stef makes his guitar sqeal. good lyrics too: "and i know you hate me, well that's okay cause i hate you too. just leave it to god"
Nighboat
Damone
Fist
Deathblow
pink maggit
fireal

are u asking underrated song for the band or for the fans or what?
i saw here Korea as an underrated song, and they play like 3/4 of their gigs that song ;).
anyway for me:
1st: Lovers (this song should be in s/t, and it should be the 1st single instead of minerva)
2nd: Damone (stated by others...awsome song, cut-paste edit in sound forge easy mode dunno the whinners about being a hidden track :D)
3rd: Moana (i got in love of that song, when i came from Lisbon to my home town 350km north driving alone at 180Km/h and listening that song all the 3 hours of the trip)
4th: Pink Maggit (stated by others, should be a endind song on their gigs imo)
5th Fireal (hmm, not being really underrated by fans, they rarely play that one live, and should be another ending option :D)

I think Birthmark, Boy's Republic or Fireal get substantial credit. BR is rare and never played live, but from what I've seen before this thread, everyone seems to love it.

every deftones song
When Girls Telephone Boys - not a day goes by where I don't listen to this song at least 5 times, what an amazing song.
Battle-Axe - IMO, one of the most emotional songs Deftones have done. Really dark and atmospheric.
Damone - yes.
Lucky You - if Chino did a solo album, every song would probably sound like this. I hope anyway.
Mascara

Underrated
Beware-to me this was the best song on SNW and in actuality i like the 06 net leak version Beware the Water i just think the verse riff sound better on an actual guitar instead of a piano but either version is good for me. I was really pissed that this song wasn't a single, i mean Mein was a sorry choice of a single to me..(Cherry Waves is next best song on SNW)
Damone-wow this song blew me the hell away i mean it should been the fist song on ATF..maybe not, MOS(SI) is a great opener...anyway seriously this song total hatred it would been a great single, but im just mad cuz i found out about this song only because i had fallen asleep and the twenty min after MX zipped by and i woke to bong hits and then damone i was hooked.
Birthmark-when people ,fans, old or new discuss Adrenaline they talk about bored seven words root and engine number nine, and to me the second best song on this album IS birthmark, a great song all around great intro course verse outro thing...song has it all..
Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event- i know this is an ambient slow song but to me its excellence at its highest peak, i mean i can skate, draw, sleep, fuck, and kill to this song its dreamy and melodic but vivid and surreal to sorta give you a high without the roach...
The Boys Republic-this not many fans know about or at least the bozos in my town they are like the boys--what??? ticks me awf anyways i remember reading stef saying that this song was for the hardcore def fans and this is totally about who the deftones are at there very core just raw and fresh...
Overrated
Change(ITHOF)-this is not the greatest song ever...to many wannabe fans say this all the time "oh my gosh change is the best song ever!" no bitch its not second greatest maybe but even then ive my doubts...now dont get me wrong its a great song but people only like it cuz thy saw queen of the damned or something, they need to expand their deftones experience...i think acoustic version is better...
Rx Queen-after being a deftones junkie for a while it gets really annoying when every deftones fan that is a female call herself or her profile "Rx Queen", i mean shit pick another song name it just drives me fuggin crazy
i.e. this is America and i can type, think, say and do whatever the fuck i want. :D
