Duet with Blink.

disintegration is amazing
prayers for rain
all of the above
and of course
Pornography
bout time someone starts a Cure thread.
I donno why people get so excited about this band.
The best self reflective mellon-collie music ever made.
Yep and just like any other great band, they make great songs, so what the fuck? aint no reason not to get excited over it, its fuckin exciting once you go through hell with a girl or somthing then like in a drugged out tired depressive state discover pornography or somthing, it happened to me just like that, i remember the date and everything, changed me, inspired me, helped me, cured me.

the band that changed my life.

I Agree.
I like them a lot, I'm young, but I think their music is great, it gives to me a paceful ambient (ok that's a 'lil gay...)
I'm not a huge fan either, but 'Disintegration' is one beautiful/fantastic/amazing album.
could someone upload this album?
i only know the song and it is so damn good. my second favorite song right after "love will tear us apart"
contents of those songs are very similar. one could assume that the best songs are created of very deep emotions
One of my fav bands of all time.

i think thats a joy division song ?? there might be a cure song with that title though
disintegration is fucking brilliant in every way.
even there newest album, is really really amazing
i really love the cure. and they make me feel so eighties and dark. lol
I think that person was saying that song is in their list of fave songs right after Joy Division's song.
I've seriously been listening to Pornography everyday for the past month. I like Disintegration, but it's kind of boring and it drags.

your right, that is what they're saying..
also, i dont believe disintegration drags one bit
Can anyone up Seventeen Seconds?
Uhuh, one of my favourite bands. British? You damn fucking right.

I would say that as well! They set me on my musical path, they brought me to what I know now! They opened my mind when I was a kid! This band is fucking special! Just read ATF's post, he states it clearly!
Disintegration is a great album, but seriously, lately Pornography has taken the crown, the sound of that album is so unigue and influential! It makes me feel warm inside hehe!
"One Hundred Years" - you can just feel it all in that song! The guitar at the end pierces through me everytime I listen to it!
I love them
I want to hear this:
* Disintegrated (2000) - hardcore tribute to the cure
Composed entirely of covers from the 1989 album Disintegration.
Includes tracks from Converge, and Cave In
bad thing with The Cure is that they are mainly known for songs like Boys Don't Cry, The Lovecats, you know, songs not that 'dark'. even their Greatest Hits collection didn't include one song from Pornography!, a record with SOOO much depth. and the Deftones cover was one of the best songs/covers/live perfomances i've seen!
I love all of the cure;s work!! ;D

Yeah I'd love to hear that as well!
pornography is just so fucking haunting. i love it.
the head on the door is an underrated album. six different ways is probably my favorite cure song.
but, disintegration + pornography = best albums.
ohhh, my favourite album choice is bloodflowers. But I'll admit that I love faith very much. We are currently doing a heavy version of the drowning man. I think the haunting thing about the cure is that has music for every mood you have.
moving to B-sides, has anyone heard The big hand? This song is just...WOW. Whoever hasn't done it is loosing a big part of music history.

Lucky you. Maybe they'll play songs from their new double album.
honestly, Disintegration is one of my least favorite albums from them, ahead of only Wild Mood Swings and The Cure.
:-[
yeah, wild mood swings sucked. i liked disintergration and S/T tho. i really only listen to faith, pornagraphy, seventeen seconds, the top and bsides on a regular basis

i need to listen to
The cure more, i just usually go for something else when i want The Cure...like everything you mentioned +
The Head on the Door and
Bloodflowers, and sometimes
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, or
Wish. :P
the S/T took awhile to grow on me, but everytime i hear it i like it better and better. plus the album has some really good bsides

Yeah same and it's better than most stuff they've done since Wish/in the 90's...
might see them this weekend. not that I'm that interested, but it'll be for free if I decide to go.

Yeah, I love the vibe I get from a boy I never knew, even without being sterile or in robert's position.
By the way, your friends photos are the BEST man, simply love them. captures the highlights of a cure show.

This is the set list I saw last thursday, and I'm still flying, they're soooooo great! :__)
my god, to wish impossible things...I was playing that song on my guitar yesterday. Seems cure are having really good setlist. A pitty they don't include Want from Wild mood swings or any of the bloodflowers songs.
the cure are releasing a new album september 13th
and are releasing each song every month on the 13th day leading up to the album
to celebrate their 13th studio album

i thought this one was a double album, even with bsides that works out to about ten songs, unless they are putting more than two songs per single
anyone else know if its a double album?
i get the impression theres only gonna 4 singles released before the album in september. each one would have one b-side.
i read somewhere awhile ago that quoted robert smith as saying there would be a special edition of the album released with the extra songs.

i've always been a casual fan of them, but about a year ago i really started getting back into them. as soon as i seen they were playing a date in san diego i knew i had to go.
i found a blog that was posting the setlist to their shows, from the looks of it seems like they generally play really long sets. most of the sets i seen on the blog were like 25 songs followed by 2-3 encores each of another 3-4 songs each
