I finally got the DVD of the unseen footage, it's absolutely fucking mint.
I got into them a long while ago from seeing many tribute acts trying to do their thing, but this DVD has really got me back into them.
Anyone else into them? Anyone else own the DVD?

edit: thought I'd do something useful with my 1000th post hehe
I absolutely love Led Zeppelin ;D
my favorite album is... nah, I can't decide between the first four. they're about equally amazing all of them. favorites songs gotta me Immigrant Song, Achilles Last Stand, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Out on The Tiles and Hey Hey What Can I Do.
Led Zeppelin is fantastic.
One of my favorite bands. I have all their albums.
I really cant choose a fav album, but right now im alot into Presence (very underrated imo)

Respect for one of the greatest bands ever.
I love "Black Dog, Immigrant Song, Kashmir" and a lot more.
I go through periods where i'll listen to them alot then other times they'll annoy the hell outta me, probably cause my flat mate played out III and IV! Which were my favourites!
I have "THE SONG REMIANS THE SAME" DVD awesome concert.

QuoteBook Description
This book is a 648 page expose about Led Zeppelin and a Magick/Satanic cult in England called the Argenteum Astrum, which means "Silver Star." The founder of this cult is Aleister Crowley, whose books are for sale on Amazon.com.
The major doctrines of this cult are presented in the most famous songs in the Led Zeppelin catalog. The cult's agenda is the destruction of the Christian faith. Very controversial and intellectually stimulating.
HAHAHAHA... LOL ;D
anyone has their BBC sessions?
Audio from the dvd, these sound damn good, especially IS.

NB Dont have BBC sessions, I have Hendrix BBC sessions tho on tape.
i dont like led zeppelin one bit
pink floyd live from the BBC is fucking incredible man.. especially echoes and one of these days
how can led zeppelin be people's favorite band, when pink floyd was out during the same time period, i just dont get it
No band will ever beat Pink Floyd.
I think those two bands are very, very different. That's why I enjoy them both so much.
Led Zeppelin is more "easy listening" and still kickass greatness.
But then again, Floyd takes me away to another world/dimension, Zeppelin doesn't.
The little acoustic bit from how the west was one is incredible as well as moby dick
^^^ another awesome band =D
talking about other bands: black sabbath and deep purple. these four, with zepps and floyds, are the biggest bands in the history of rock'n'roll. but they had different style. so saying that floyds are better than zepps is useless.
I find it a bit crazy to compare Floyd and Zep, they're nothing alike... only around at the same time but so many other bands were too. I love em both, but I prefer Zep in all honesty but thats just my opinion.
Please don't let this become a Floyd vs Zep thread lol
The DVD looks dope!
Regarding Zep/Floyd.
Too me their styles are different. Floyd's more ambient/trippy less 'rocking' then Zep. Not as hard.
I think both bands were very influential for lots of bands that followed tho.
And yea Sabbath and Deep Purple probably the other 70's bands that were the most influential from the 70's.
I'm sure 30 years from now people are gonna say, 'Korn is way better than deftones or vice versa' Or, "no way! Rage against the Machine was way better!"

no where near as much as pink floyd, but alot. the live version of 'since ive been loving you' is fuckin gold man. so good.
Good band, nothing special.

LOL ;D
personally, I think The Song Remains The Same sucked. Robert sounds awful on that recording. I think they were pretty damn tired from touring at that point. there are some songs that are alright, and the "trippy sequences" are fun/cool. but as a whole I didn't like it much.
I've downloaded most of the stuff from How The West Was Won and that on the other hand is amazing. especially Immigrant Song.
I suggest you all to check out Robert Plant & Jimmy Page's cd "No Quarter". it's a mainly acoustic gig they did with an egyptian (I think) orchestra. they play old Zeppelin songs and it sounds really good.

hehe thank you Ry, let me know whatcha think.
I grew up on Zeppelin, i love alot of thier shit. Most of My Favorites were alot of the keyboard sort of oriented love tunes they had like Fool In The Rain, All Of My Love and so on, not too mention Dyer Maker and all the others, but they got alot of great tunes I like and their a classic ass rock n roll band, all respect.

1 other thing re: Zep & Floyd.
My older brother was lucky enuf to see Led Zep live right after graduating HS ('73!).
My brother maintains to this day he never liked Floyd citing them as too slow and boring. lol

that's hard but 'Since I've Been Loving You' has one amazing buildup to it... simple bluesy licks and full heartfelt vocals. Class.
'Babe i'm gonna leave you' is probably (at the moment atleast) my fav song.

Led Zeppelin was one of the first bands I ever listened to. Between them and Aerosmith I got my start in the world of rock. Just reading this thread makes me want to go find my old cassettes and pop one in. Thanks!

Q&A: John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/17954023/qa_john_paul_jones_of_led_zeppelin
My favorite LZ song always has been D'yer M'aker, I don't know if that will ever change...
After that its: Fool in the Rain, All my Love, The Ocean...and so on.
The Ocean and White Summer, they fucking rock
PRESENCE is such underrated album.
I have to confess I haven't get through the whole album before, but today I put it on my player and listened to it all the way through on my way home back from work. Rain, green fields and green forests. In one word: beautiful.
THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME is still my no. 1 though.
Zeppelin truely mad great music. But I hope most of you guys know that they stole a lot of their early work, from a lot of old blues guys, including 'dazed and confused' and 'whole lotta love, shit here is a pretty good list of of songs they took credit for AKA PLAGARIZED -
• ""Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant."
• "Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch.
• "Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson). Blogovich sez: This gets complicated in the "imposter" Sonny Boy part. There were indeed two of the dude, Rice Miller (the second Sonny Boy) and John Lee Williamson (Sonny Boy I) although Sonny Boy II wound up being, arguably, the more well-known, partly because he lasted longer — Sonny Boy I was murdered at age 34 during a robbery, but we don't have time or space to get into all that; read a blues book if you're interested. Bottom line: Zep ripped the song off.
• "Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown."
• "Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy."
• "Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes). Blogovich sez: This is the one to which Jeff, who commented on the blog, refers.
• "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down."
• "How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter."
• "In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut).
• "The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70's and settled out of court.
• "Moby Dick" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker.
• "Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues.
• "Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar.
• "Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit. Blogovich sez: Not "apparently". This one is startling. Taurus, by Spirit (great band, pick up a compilation at least, highly recommended), is an instrumental of three minutes' duration; Zep copied the entire song and used it as the intro to Stairway. Give it a listen. But sit down first. Ridiculous.
• "White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair."
I thought this was pretty common knowledge.

odd, i happen to own two zepp dvds and i haven't seen those as yet (get them for really cheap here, like a dollar a dvd or close so can't watch em all)... shall listen to the song remains the same then...
what's the second one?
let's see... one's been posted here already, the one with the red rock and the blue sky, the other one has a black cover and a half-faded les paul on the cover...
the guitar one is THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME but I've heard that the second one is better.
