So i got this Fender FM 65R Amp i wanted to know if anybody in here has a good ATF setting...
The amp has: Drive, Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass and Reverb.
uh. i think you should purchase a (cheap?) multiFX. as far as i know fender amps aren't good for distorted sounds and "metal". but i haven't heard it with my own ears. perhaps somebody on this board has and can help you...

Would you recommend any?
okay PLEASE don't get behringer X -Vamp. i have this one and it sucks. i know some guys that are satisfied with korg/ toneworks (AX1500G). sounds good. or get a good soundcard and buy or download guitarrig:). read about it here (http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=guitarrig2_us). you can also download a demo version there. it's a great programm.
and a good soundcard is cheaper than a toneworks AX1500G for example. and sounds very good in my opinion.
No crappy practice amp will get you ATF's tone, its hard enough trying to get it with The Marshall Jmp-1 and 9200 power amp, which he uses on Around The Fur. So save up some pesos.

You dont need stefs setup to get the ATF sound, im using a Korg AX10G multi/eff going into a Marshall Valvestate V8100 2000watt head and 4x12 Marshall Cabinet and i can jsut about mimic the sound he has on ATF, even with my Les Paul
Prove it.

Give me a decent mic and i will, the piece of shit i have here has been run over by the computer chair and table too many times and doesnt work anymore i dont think.
thats cool though man, ATF is my favorite tone ever put down on tape though, so respect for gettin that sound.

Yeah i understand, the ATF tone is by far the best sound Steph has got out of his setup to date.
headup kicks ass...
Set the volume to 11.
Can't someone upload a soundclip where they play WGTB or something, so i can compare the sound to my own amp.
C'mon i'll upload mine if you do it...
My brother gave me his Marshalls because he went into the army, so now ive inhereited a badass set up, and my volume can go past 11. I set the Pre-amp at 17 and the power amp ALl the fuckin way up, my hearing is bad but so what, thats life. My tone is fuckin bEAutiful Bruce Nollen Style.
Probably, the Marshall's amps are the best.
A good randall stack is hella nice too
Is the verses in WGTB played clean or distorted?

I actually think that White Pony has his most unique and amazing tone. Its just unbelievable.
it depends of what tone you look for.
WP tone, is more finely worked.
but don't buy a multiFX, just to try to get the deftones sound, it could be a mess to use, too much effects.
i use only a few separate pedals and it's more pleasant.
if you really want to buy one, i recommend you a BOSS GT series, really good sound and not that expensive
heh
I've got an original 5150 stack that I got when they first came out (around 1992?). It has one of the most amazing tone qualities i've heard.
Also, be original. Don't just try and perfectly copy someone elses sound. Find what sounds good on YOUR amp and to YOUR ears.
I think you should set the Drive really Far, far away, that's where you should put the drive
btw, ive got a rented Line 6 Spider amp and the shit has a stephen carpenter preset on it, if you're interested you should give it a try
does anyone have the amp settings for buffalo?
behringer sucks!

i've never heard of that program, that's fucking genius! it'd be so baller with a laptop n shit
It does work for acoustic guitars? (that program) ??
PS: The guy at the very right of the sig pic of alvarezbassist17 (the pic of After the Funeral) seems a lot to David Gilmour.... that's funny!

No way, that 5150 can obivously cop some eddie tones right? do you use greenbacks?
I've been through quite a few rack set ups marshalls, and marshall mixed with mesa, but i always sell my shit then get somthing different, right now it's a JVM head and it's the best piece I've ever owned. I actually got a decent Panama tone.
i've been playinguitar since i was 7, but due to constant change in musical interests and my parents not giivng a shit in providing me wit hte tools, I have no concept of modern guitar/amp settings. All i got is a didgitech 2500 which the plugin chord got destroyed so im left wiht a simple practive amp. If i were to buy quality yet simple to operate pedals specializing in heavy distortion, what should i get?
just get a marshall head. that's all.
