So I finally got me an 8-string yesterday, and I've got the general idea of Tempest down, but I can't tell if he does Drop D (DADGCFAD) and hits the low note for the first chord in the chorus, or if he just starts the chorus on the 10th fret in Drop E (EBEADGBE). Any thoughts? 8-string Drop D would be fuckin ridiculous.

After looking at live videos, it looks like you guys are right. As far as I can tell, he starts the chorus off with power chords on the 3rd fret of the B string.

Some guy on youtube covered tempest on an 8 string with a weird tunning, whyd he tune it that way? Idk but its pretty spot on .. i play it in drop e though
