What's every-ones favourite song (based solely on lyrics), its a really hard choice but for me it's cherry waves (at the moment), I just like they way it tells a sort of dark and bitter sweet love story it's just got that real Chino feel.

Yea I love that song especially when Chinos quietly singing the "shade is a tool" part and it's only him and Chi with his creeping bass riff then it just explodes. Also for some reason the song made me think of sharks before i even saw the video lol.
Fist, BQAD ("I dressed you in her clothes" is just beautifully sad), MX, feiticeira (fuck man, almost all of white pony has their best lyrics), Good Morning Beautiful, WGTB, Cherry Waves.
Not much from DE. I love the album musically, but lurically it really lacks sincerity imho.

Man the Deftones have too many good songs to choose from, but I agree about DE lyrics not as creative as the other albums and too much repetition it seemed like every song was a single.
Battle-axe & one weak
Really hoping KNY has decent lyrics. DE lyrics was pretty lame
I don't think the diamond eyes lyrics are lame, Chino just set the bar really high.

Yeah still some great songs just seemed rushed
Love the lyrics for "Digital Bath". It's absolutely haunting. Though I also like "Be Quiet And Drive" and "Mascara" too.
(have a feeling "Rosemary" might take that spot, though, at least from what I can understand. The lyrics are beautiful.)
Don't really have a favourite but I have been reading the lyrics from Rapture recently and they're really good.
When girls telephone boys and bloody cape.
IMO, the best lyrics are in ATF and WP.
Hard to pick only one.
WGTB/ Mascara / MOS / Digital Bath / Knife Prty...
Hexagram.
Too freakin hard to choose one or even two. Digital Bath is my all time favorite so I would say this one but overall all the lyrics from WP or S/T are amazing.
I like the way I can totally relate to what was going on with the band during the SNW era just with the lyrics. I feel they are more direct and simple (HITE, Rapture, Rats) but I still like them.
I do think that DE lyrics were not the best (over-use of the "waves" image for instance) but I still like the fact that theyre going into a new more positive direction. I dig the lyrics from Cmnd/Ctrl, Prince (maybe the only really dark ones on the record) and Risk.
Regarding DE, This Place Is Death and You've Seen The Butcher are the only songs I like in terms of lyrics.
Anyways, as a whole my favorites...Korea, Knife Prty and Mascara I think.
Passenger
From DE I like Risks lyrics mainly cause they're about Chi. I love how the Deftones lyrics are so abstract because everyone can take their own meaning from it and use it to help through a bad time like a break up or whatever.
This Place is Death probably features best writing ever. Ever.
id say either cherry waves or my own summer
Fireal. No doubt.
I really like the attitude of CMND/CTRL.
Then I also like the messages in Hexagram, Deathblow, Elite, Lotion, and Beauty School. I guess I'm gonna have to pick CMND/CTRL, Hexagram, and Lotion as my favorites.
Elite has some good shit goin on lyrically
.
Battle axe, one weak, mascara...

I agree. Somehow it seems the heavy-badass songs lack attention but the lyrics are often just as good. More straight-forward, but still.

Yea love the " you're into depression cause it matches your eyes" lyric.
Cherry Waves, but Beware, and Battle Axe are close behind
Feiticeira most definitely
everything on self-titled
