Title: Cunningham's best Groove/Beat?
Post by: Millennia on Feb 18, 2012, 12:37 AM
For me digital bath has one of the most amazing creative beats iv ever heard.
Needles and Pins is also killer, his kick placements are so unique and add so much to the song.

Passenger, Needles and Pins, Moana, This Place is Death.

I love his style. Absolutely love it. He actually knows how to use a kick drum, rather than just blasting away on the double pedal or playing lockstep with the guitar and bass.

The around the fur verse lick stands out to me, always has since the first time i heard it. Tasteful, tight, and even though it's really basic it's just so reckognizable.

Everything he's laid drums on. The dude is one of the most underrated drummers and most deserving out there. Completely original.

It's too difficult to choose only one.

I always loved the bridge in WGTB.

Also verse in Lhabia.  Puts me in a trance.

Yeah as many said, Digital Bath...you wouldn't think it was a linear beat (only hitting one drum at a time) with how much flow it has. The cymbal dynamics are really nice and every hit of the drum is so assured and crisp. Love the how well WP is recorded in general, i rate it as the best album in terms of production value.

Other than that nosebleed is a rollercoaster and i really love the riviere beat, it just comes out of no where.

hmmmm, AOAUE ;) Nah, seriously for me... prob "Rickets" but I'm no drummer. Just sounds way chaotic and complicated to me anyways. (Today that is) ;)
