So who would you like to see work with the Deftones? Possibly collaborate with (co write), produce, or guest star on a song with?
It's be cool to see a list with a little description on the mash up.
1: Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan) - I think it'd be cool to see him write a song with the band. Not only is his guitar playing on a different level but he also dabbles in electronic music (specifically remixes and does "glitch"). I think the possibility is likely as they have toured together and they seem to have a great mutual respect for eachother.
2: Max Cavalera - I know he popped up on Head Up for vocals, but I think with Stef's playing the way it is now and Max's verocity, it'd probably be one of the most destructive mind blowing grooves you ever heard. Add in Max's screaming, it's lower then Chino's now... a harmony of screams. Oouphda!
3: Boards of Canada - This maybe more for Team Sleep (I don't see it working with Crosses too well) but the dark stuff I've heard them do is so moody that it'd fit right in. Adding Frank to work with them, oh boy.
4: Rivers Coumo - The dude is a fucking genius when it comes to pop and we all know Chino loves Weezer. I don't know what would come of it, it possibly could be one of the worst things ever, but it could also be very beautiful.
5: Steve Albini - I mentioned it earlier, but this man is a solid producer. From what I've read about his style and approach to producing it's similar to Terry Date. He's more about capturing the band live and using multiple mics in a room to capture different takes on a sound. When I think about Diamond Eyes, Albini's style probably would of done the record more justice. Or it could of been another Ezrin disaster.
6: Trent Reznor - They both seem to have an affinity for the dark sounds the 80's could of produced. Both are esteemed and respected. Just imagine what a remix would sound like of anything off of Self Titled or Saturday Night Wrist. Jesus.
7: Thom York - Imagine a song like Passenger, but with Thom in the mix.
Just random thoughts. If it's already a thread, but buried, I sorry. Mods delete of it's a duplicate.
Terry Date

I've always thought Page's stop-start style would make for a pretty cool deftones/helmet combo.
I wouldn't replace any of the 'tones members for a cameo - so keep Stef but insert J. Mascis just to hear a deftones "original" with a solo ;D
Terry. If any cameo i would be interested in hearing T.Reznor if anyone.

Some great friggin ideas here guys! I'd be all over a Daryl Palumbo collab as well. I always thought the dynamics both bands have/follow, not just Daryl and Chino posses, complimented each other very well.
Robert Smith would be awesome. But I've read he's damn finicky and eccentric with his songwriting and recording. Like he'll walk away from doing vocals if he isn't feeling the atmosphere/vibe. Either way it'd be epic. Chino can match his voice very very well. Worlds would collide and the Sun would implode on itself if the 2 ever joined forces. :D
This is a seriously stupid thread. Sorry I'm being so negative, but everyone in this thread deserves to burn in hell.

Yeah, this person has issues with self first, not us. For one, I know he can't grow a mustache yet.

Lawlz... someone needs a hug.
A female vocalist again. Perhaps Christina from Lacuna Coil. The way Chino writes his melodic songs, a few lines by a woman would be bring the songs to a whole new level.
I guess it makes Vesanic feel like a big man when he tells me I need to calm down. GOOD JOB BIG MAN
you know what?? you need to grow the fuck up. vesanic was right to tell you to chill out. you're an asshole- you're acting like one at the very least. there's nothing at all wrong with this topic. if you don't have anything useful or relevant to add, then gtfo.
i'd love to see a collab between deftones and mike patton, myself. it'd be killer.

YEs yes yes yes yes yes yes yes !!!! Its been my dream for years but I dont even know if Chino likes NIN or Trent likes deftones LOL!!!!! I Would love Trent as a producer it would be amazing.I could die happy after that hehehehe :D
I agree that Wu-Tang would be hot, especially Rza or Method Man. I think it would be really great to put Tech Ni9e on the next Deftones record - I know they've collaborated before, but it would be so sick to hear something with the whole band.
There really are sooooo many singers out there that I'd love to hear do something with the Deftones. I won't list them all because I'm sure not all of us have exactly the same taste. But if I had to pick one... just ONE dream come true track.... Pete Loeffler... I'm not sure if it would be best to have Chino guest with Chevelle or Pete guest with Deftones... I'm imagining some real sickness with both... but whenever questions like this arise I put my trust in Deftones. Yeah, call up Pete and see if you can do a track together. I, for one, would love it!

I LOVE Wutang, have for 20 yrs, but please do describe what u picture them doing with Deftones or even Chino. I cant wrap my brain around it, enlighten me because I really am interested to know where hip hop fits into this category..... Black Moon sucked dick but maybe u picture something I don't. I know we all have varied tastes so don't take it the wrong way, I really want to hear this. ???
Aaron Turner or anyone (that used to be...) in ISIS.

how many forget that after deftones first bassist left and was later replaced by chi, abe left the band for awhile also? glad he came back. #abe
I would love to see Joe Barresi Produce and mix an album with Deftones. I think he would bring out a ton of hidden gems out of a deftones album.
The first response in this thread nailed it.
I like a bunch of other bands but I am not sure who would fit Deftones style. For the sake of this thread maybe Beth Gibbons from Portishead.
I'm begging for that to happen (Beth with Deftones), and also, Tery from Le Butcherettes.
Also, some collab with the guys from Gojira would be dope.

You were probably saying this, considering the career path that Deftones decided to take, distancing themselves from bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit to avoid being judged as a Nu-Metal band. They could have done something similar to what Limp Bizkit did with Method Man ( Wu Tang) or what Korn did with Ice Cube and Nas.

that dude from crosses seems like a perfect fit
You must not be talking about Chuck, 4sure, who eventually left the band, but rather about Shaun; he had already worked with Deftones on the SNW album. Chino doesn't seem to like the album, not that I'm implying it has anything to do with Shaun, but Chino always refers to the album as a dark time in their history. In any case, Crosses, they have now signed with Warner Records. This marks the band's first album with a major label. It's not worse than the collaboration Chino did with Trippie Redd, with all that satanic imagery, trying to appeal to the new generation as cool

Limp Bizkit feat Method Man,Redman & Dmx - Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)
Even the version they made of 'Rollin' is a good example. I love this
Vesanic don't lie to yourself, you know you love Three Dollar Bill, Y'All$ and The Unquestionable Truth
I remember seeing you sing on your YouTube channel, not sure if it's the current one or which one it was. The song was 'Walking Away' by Limp Bizkit, not bad, but you should try 'Pollution' good cover though
Vesanic, don't trip. I was complimenting your cover
