In my opinion, two of the most original have to be "Pink Maggit" and "Battle Axe". They pretty much dont have any other songs you can compare them to.
vegetable song i think. sounds more like primus than deftones
Anywhere that can actually be listened to now?
i'm listening to it right now. dominic garcia's basslines are incredible
Hexagram and Bloody Cape
wow..bloody cape a strange deftones song? interesting. personally, i think it's a typical deftones song which has all the deftones elements.it's heavy and dark but has energy and passion. it has got soft vulnerable vocals mixed with cocky attacking rhythmic singing to stef's beafy guitar.a typical calm breakdown followed by a scream attack - the dynamics are all there. probably the most back to basic track on s/t
as 2nd most original song after vegetable song i would say select/start. it doesn't sound like deftones at all. and, it has no vocals. the only song deftones has released on a deftones album with out singing. that's wierd because deftones music is much depended on chino's singing
totally right from_musings
konami code
beautiful song ever!
I'll go with "Anniversary Of An Uninteresting Event"
Fist
Anniversary of an uninteresting event, by far. That Slow, SLOW tempo is some strange, otherwordly stuff.
Forgot about 'Select/Start', it's definitely got a post-rock vibe going on. For me it's got to be 'Lucky You' but it's not really a strange song coming from Chino's point of view.

link it lool
I would say Combat
Combat
Digital Bath is pretty unique . The lyrics are kinda macabre (murder) but the music is really soft and soothing .
obivously most original song belong to this list : konami code, pink cellphone or lucky you...
Cause they pretty much don't sound like "classic" deftones

Love that song!
Mascara for me. Haunting.
Most of their songs are just original anyway I reckon.
Beauty School and Sex Tape ::)

Bloody Cape is my favourite song of any band and Hexagram is one of my favourites. Maybe they're not strange but to me they are original and unorthodox.
What's really cool is that their original sound is so natural - It doesn't sound forced, like the band went into the studio and said ''ok lets make this really experimental'' and they didn't resort to using electronics and gadgetry in an effort to sound original.
I don't really know how to explain it but I'll start with Bloody Cape.
The verses aren't really anything weird but the way Chino sings them is definitely different to anything else out there. Then the chorus is kind of half shouted - I can't explain what makes it different, I just know there's nothing that sounds like this song and noone can try and imitate it.
Hexagram - yes I've heard a lot of songs with growling but those blood curdling screams Chino pulls off are like nothing else. Then the chorus is pretty unorthodox with with Chino screaming ''Worship, pray pray pray''
I think it's hugely original and can't think of anything remotely similar.
I mean just listen to Chino sing it live and tell me the song especially the chorus is pretty standard fare:
Deftones - Hexagram (live) INCREDIBLE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-9y3U1SvMA#)
Pink Cellphone (strangest, not most original)
try Crenshaw Punch.
Answers: Deftones with reggae sound and Stef doin a lil solo =D
