Title: Dreams
Post by: BillyNo.9 on Apr 11, 2011, 07:47 PM
sorry if something similar has been posted.
Just a thread to share or discuss dreams. Any particularly vivid dreams? reoccurring ones, nightmares etc...

I get a reoccurring nightmare EVERY time I'm sick. I'm inside some sort of giant electrical/mechanical contraption that is extremely volatile,  Its really vague and confusing. For some reason I'm ejected from where ever the fuck I am and fall for what feels like an hour until I blackout within the dream. I'll re-awake in the same dream, to find a ticking nuclear bomb in my living room which I have no idea how to disarm. Every time I have that dream I'm depressed for about 3 days after
Any experts on dreams know what that shit could mean?

When ever I was ill I used to see dots and those letter tables that they have at opticians and the corner of the rooms seemed to be really far away.

I have really vivid dreams which I can normally remember, normally about my Mum going somewhere like on holiday and I can't go with her and some of them are located at my Nan's house. I did have an odd one the other night were I was in Tunisia and was walking through this market and there was this lad I went to school with who I haven't thought about or seen in over 13 years and Chino of all fucking people was in this market and I said that I'm going to Morocco if he wants to walk with me then I turned around and the market was gone.

I used to over analyse dreams way too much years ago but their just pictures in your brain from stuff you have seen through out the day. There are some good website that will tell you what they mean but.

Dude, that's a freaky nightmare.  I never remember mine, I just wake up scared shitless - but it's been some time since I had a real nightmare.

Whenever I am sick, there are always clocks in my dreams, since I was a child.

For the most part, I never remember my dreams (or I don't have very many?).  But, I've been sleeping in my daughters room lately because my husband snores.  So, I've been sleeping really well and I had this dream that I was driving the Deftones around in my minivan (for some unknown reason - and Chi was there too) and then we went to the skate park to pick up my kid.  That's all I remember though.

I had the gayest and bizarrest dream on my birthday's night while being really drunk.

I dreamed I was watching porn and then out of nowhere my mum caughts me, still I wasn't feeling nervous so I let the pr0n movie go on, and then I wanted to show her It wasn't gay porn, but the dude's dick was in front of the camera the whole time, no matter what part of the video I skipped to.

you know, when I was probably 13 my mum thought I was gay, which was a real bummer for me (nothing against gay dudes, though. Hating on gay is sooo gay). Fortunately, with time that bizarre idea cleared out of her mind.

I feel I exposed way too much of my personal life in this post, but whatever. It's cool to share a bit of my innerself with you fellas. (well, at least some of you)

What a lovely insight. My girlfriend got changed in my bedroom the other day and left a couple of things in there. My mum now thinks I wear women's underwear...

Hmmm - are you by any chance an active outdoorsy type of guy?  Just the link to being sick bringing upon this dream...I kinda get the feeling its something to do with the huge frustration you feel at being ill...you feel trapped and helpless (the giant-ness and volatility of the contraption), and totally impatient for the end to arrive.  The fact theres a timer adds weight to the desire to get through it - you know theres got to be a certain amount of time until the end, whilst at the same time an overwhelming feeling of dejection and 'woe is me', as indicated by the bomb.

Ooooooooooooooooooh, such a good topic.

I am a big fan of dreams - if one might say it like this. For five or six years I am keeping various forms of dream journals and analysis scraps, because analyzing your dreams is the best psychological practice one can get. If you understand your mind and the symbols it shows you - of course. And yes, there are meaningless chaotic dreams but at the same  time there are dreams of the essence.

For two years with writing down my dreams daily (I have my phone near my bed so I can write a couple of basic words (call them tags) that help me remember later) I could remember 3-4 dreams every single night. My personal record is 7 vivid different dreams with stories per night. Usually my dreams are very colorful (lots of sci-fi, fantasy, zombies, post-apocalypse, fantastic landscapes and impossible things - Hollywood fucked with my brain a lot). Also, I am having lucid dreams from time to time. Those are amazing. An incredible indescribable experience. Lots of false awakenings etc.

Lately I became lazy so I am not writing my dreams anymore.
There are some very very basic entries here - http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot (http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot) .

Some of my favorite dreams:
http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot&dream_id=126969 (http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot&dream_id=126969)
http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot&dream_id=126013 (http://www.dreamjournal.net/journal/index.cfm?username=lostpilot&dream_id=126013)

If I have nightmares, they are pretty fucking intense. Usually in my nightmares I am dealing with forces that I cannot control. There is this one particular dream  that gets me all the time. It's very short but static - I "wake up" in the back seat of an open cadillac or something like that, I am tied with a strong rope, it's dark and the car is parked near a dark house. The driver looks back at me - he seems to be the devil, somehow, and he smiles with this devilish evil smile and releases brakes. For a moment I "realize" the dream space - we are parked on a small hill near the house, and if you go down the hill there is this completely empty void with nothing - when we go backwards to the void (with me struggling in fear), the car stars to fall down and we "die" or evaporate in the air.. I usually wake up killed by the fear.

So that's pretty much it.

Oh really, do you also pee your bed, cause that's what happened when i was little. Whenever i dreamt of a clock i peed the bed. Luckily i haven't been dreaming much about clocks the last 15 years.

Nope, I wasn't a bed wetter.  But that does make sense, dreaming about clocks, the urgency of time, time running out, not having enough time, etc., and then peeing the bed.  I did have a few nightmare about pissing myself when I was older (think 21, new to drinking) because I saw a girl piss herself right there on a bar stool.  Those nightmares awoke me just in time to get up and pee  :P

I haven't remembered a dream in a long time.  Probably because I don't get any sleep ever.  I used to have this awesome dream of raptors invading my school and we all battled them.  I always died :(

Nope Im not outdoorsy at all, Im quite content in any environment, It's probably related to when I used to sleepwalk when I was a little kid.  I used to walk down stairs and stand in the middle of my lounge, I remember focusing on a standby light on the TV, then I'd be hysterical till my mum came down to get me.  I've always associated the two things

I hate listening to people's dreams. It's like flipping through a stack of photographs. If I'm not in any of them, and nobody's having sex, I just... don't care.

I had a nightmare last night of my ex im stiull close with, we were at my old house and i come in and shes making out with my friend.  Can't really remember the details of the rest, except that I remember feeling like I lost her and would never get her back.  Oh and then the usual flying around, but I woke up today feeling like I was going to accomplish something big, had alot of positivity throughout the day so far. Hopefully it carries on to band practice tonight.

I've read about some benefits of keeping a dream journal, like having more lucid dreams or even being able to predict some things in your future. I've never been able to keep a journal going long enough to tell if any of it's true though.

I had a dream last night that I was a contestant on some cooking show. It seemed like I made some watered down macaroni and cheese. yum

I haven't had a good sex dream in a while, you know, the ones when you wake up and realise you've overslept and gonna be late for work but still manage to find the time to have a wank before you get up.
