the reason I don't want to buy off of iTunes is because I bought an album on there before, re-installed Windows and lost it. I know this is my own fault and I should've made sure to save it. but the problem now is that I can't find anywhere to download the album again, and after re-installing Windows I have to unlock my computer for the iTunes store again and I only have 5 chances to do so. which means I'll have to do it again the next time I re-install Windows too. maybe I've just misunderstood the whole situation or haven't looked hard enough for a solution, but I kinda lost patience pretty quickly when I realized there was no way to download an album that you had already paid for. the whole thing feels pretty risky and I still prefer having a physical copy of what I pay for.

Hell, I bought it on itunes at midnight and just ran out from work to pick it up at Best Buy. It sounds great on a high-end sound system. Can't wait to get home, put on the headphones, and listen to it all the way through.

I think word of mouth for this has just been really good. I've been checking out other sites that have reviewed Diamond Eyes and a bunch of people who gave up on Deftones are checking this one out. They truly deserve all the success they're getting.
SNW had the same amount of promotion, they even had a in-store signing in Portsmouth. If any one knows where Portsmouth is, it's basically the middle of no where and it's where boats dock. Funnily enough the band cancelled at the last minute.
It's clearly because of the energy in the new songs and obviously the worldwide news of Chi's accident.

This is GREAT NEWS! Just read in USA Today that they gave the record 3 1/2 out of 4 Stars by the way.
I think some of the credit goes to Deftones fan base. We are rabid and loyal! I bought the itunes deluxe version and just picked up 3 copies from Best Buy to give to a few friends and my kid. I know all of us are telling everyone we know about the album.

In short, first listen I was honestly unsure. Second listen I was really liking it. 5th listen I was in love. I took my dog out to pull me around on my longboard after a really intense, really brief thunderstorm had hit. The sun was just coming back out, and I had my CD player in hand listening to it the whole ride. I'm head over heels for it now.
