Please don't be covers or acoustic versions of any songs we know.
Go Lopez!

I don't mind When Deftones do covers. :-) But I hope it's some actual B-SIDES. How many songs were on that white board of tentative titles? (14?) Maybe we'll hear some of those. :)

Really S.Lopez didn't have as much to do with SNW as some think (He did the vocal production). I myself love SNW but if you were to blame someone for it (To each their own) it would be Ezrin. But to be honest I think it might be cool to let Lopez mix these and see how he does. :-) Who knows... Might turn out kick ass. Obviously the Tones trust him with these tracks and have plans for them.  8)

I think Lopez was great on SNW, definetly blossomed chino's various vocal styles

agreed. Chino said he couldn't think of ideas for songs and felt too preasured with Ezrin, and hanging out with Lopez in a chilled inviorment really helped him create and put the album together. Lopez did fine with Chino. i really like snw

I am guessing a cover, an acoustic and an original. That seems to be the trend.

there was no original b-side for SNW, or WP(since crenshaw was ATF sessions)

I am hoping for a bonus track on the iTunes release. They did it on snw and almost every band seems to be doing it these days. Some are really good. Poison the well's new release had a whole ep.

Who fucking cares if u don't like snw or St.. Get over it, if u don't like an album don't fucking listen to it.  If you don't like what deftones are doing then don't fucking follow them.  Stop your crying and get over it.

Sounds like they're covers (source theprp.com):

Far guitarist Shaun Lopez has commented on his ongoing mixing sessions for three Deftones b-side tracks. Speaking via Twitter, he offered the following:

"Crash course in mixing 3 tunes near completion... 10 hours later. Deftones are very good at covering a broad range of tunes for sure."

im not sure, but "covering a broad range of tunes" doesnt have to be they covering songs, it can mean they control a lot of different styles in music?
