Title: new TV shows (2009-10 edition)
Post by: bright lights, big city on May 21, 2009, 08:47 PM
I love TV. I know most of you love TV too.

V already has its own thread (looks like it could be deserving of it)

but here are some other series I've heard/read about lately that could be awesome.

Flash Forward (ABC) Supposedly coming in the fall, you may have seen it's commercial during Lost recently. that is, if you have good taste and actually watch Lost.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Forward_(2009_TV_series) (plot summary sounds very interesting)

Happy Town (ABC) Already has people comparing it to Twin Peaks, which would be incredible. Plot (from wikipedia): Haplin, a small town in Minnesota has its first crime following a period of peace after a series of unsolved kidnappings. Now you know it's gotta be more complicated than that.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1379722/ cast looks pretty stellar

Day One (NBC) Another series supposedly not coming until 2010. I read somewhere it's on Mondays after Chuck in the winter/spring season. Has a story of life on earth following a global catastrophe that has devastated the world's infrastructures. The survivors strive to rebuild society as they unravel the mysteries of what happened and face their uncertain future. Post-apocalyptic world. hmm after playing Fallout 3, I've been itching for more movies/shows that parallel that. Looks like I'm getting my wish with this and Cormac McCarthy's The Road movie this year.

Community (NBC) On Thursdays in the fall. Stars CHEVY CHASE AND JOEL MCHALE. students at a community college. 'nuff said.
