Title: Pop Punk
Post by: ben on May 10, 2009, 09:21 PM
If you hate pop punk, then just don't come in here.  It's that simple.

Some really good shit:

Set Your Goals
The Movielife
New Found Glory
The Get Up Kids
Saves The Day
Blink, of course
Brand New
Fireworks
H2O
Lifetime

I love Blink, but I like New Found Glory a lot more.

Their earlier albums with the gorilla biscuits influence and the newest album are just the best examples of summer happy music i can find.

really, i enjoy every album they've made.  some people get turned off by the vocals.

Set Your Goals and Fireworks are also really good.

I know what you mean, and I got into them because their original material really was catchy. Well, that and their hardcore roots (very similar to Fall Out Boy, too, honestly).

But yeah anyways their new album is good? I'll admit i passed up on it just because I assumed it would suck. They kind of disappeared for a few years there. Shouldn't have done that I guess, though. I'm gonna go give it a listen...

it's not an essential NFG album, but it's a fun listen and you can tell they're back to having fun again after the bittersweet last album.
I actually saw them a couple weeks ago and they put on a hell of a show.
