New trailer

Amazing song by NIN on the back.
Not interested. I haven't been interested. The teaser trailer had a fun play on the theme song, but without Cameron I'm not interested. He created the universe and without him directing, writing, and/or producing it, I really don't care about it. I absolutely love the James Cameron Terminator movies. It's a very interesting universe and if he were to be a part of it again I'd be there in a heartbeat.
In a nutshell: I wont be seeing this movie.
I don't get it, the first two Terminator movies were nothing more than dumb action movies. they didn't offer much depth or much of an interesting backstory. if anything, the Terminator "universe" has been created after the movies were created with input from other people than Cameron.
Well, I'm super excited about it. I fucking love the Terminator franchise, it's immense.
Holy motherfucking shit.
This looks fucking amazing. I actually got chills from that trailer. Wow, how can you not be excited about this?
The scene where Bale asks Marcus ; " You think you're human" "Yes" Then unties the chains so he can look down and see his cyborg skeleton... damn, awesome.
It looks exactly like it should... I love the first two Terminator movies, didn't really care for the third, except the badass ending.
This is the Terminator movie I've been waiting for.
Now, all it needs is the R rating. For fucks sake, PLEASE make it R.
So stoked about this.
Yeah that part gave me goose bumps. I liked this trailer better.
yes, suddenly i am excited for this movie.
i just never thought McG could do anything decent. hope i'm wrong now, though.
looks super cool.
maybe too cool....

not gonna happen. I'm starting to think the R rating doesn't even exist anymore.
movies just make so much more money when they are PG-13. and sadly i think that R rating DOES make a lot of movies that much better.
this looks great! i love the first two terminator movies. i heard of an arnold cameo. any truth to that?
edit: to answer my own question. i looked it up and there is goning to be a body double and they are going to cgi the face to look like arnold and he is going to do a voice over. that kinda weird but i guess he is to old to be t-800 still. mcg said they are going to make him look lik circa '84 arnold.
i bet McG got the job based on his video for got the life haha
rumor has it that this movie's sequel (T5) will have both Arnold and Robert Patrick. THAT would be fuckin amazing.
trailers always look impressive. we'll wait, we'll see.

I don't think of the first movie being intended as an action movie. I think it was more intended as like a suspense/horror thing. It's not particularly scary, but if you think about it in a mid-80s point of view it's fucking terrifying.

What WAS your point?
On topic: Saw the trailer yesterday when I saw Watchmen again and Christian Bale would be a kickass John Connor. I am glad that Arnold won't be in it. He's old and saggy. He can't be an action hero anymore. It didn't even work in T3. I wonder if there will be any T-1000s in this movie. Those guys are awesome.
I like how everyone hates on McG but he hasn't even done anything except for a few music videos and a football movie while being the producer of a hit teen show. The guy knows what people like, and he spoke to Cameron personally.
Who cares if it's R, just as long as the story is good.
Also it will have an opening monologue by Linda Hamilton.
i believe he did the charlie's angels movies. that was how i had heard of him.
he did early KoRn videos.
Reviews aren't looking good for this.

Called it!
haha yikes, 36%! But just like I mentioned in the Inglourious Basterds thread, I'm seeing this thing ASAP. It's not like a Tarantino/Pitt killer combo, it's McG/Bale. But when Christian Bale is the star he has never made a bad movie in my opinion (Reign of Fire is the only thing coming to mind that sucked, but he wasn't the star of that).
And wasn't T3 getting panned by critics too? I know it was nowhere near T2, but I still thought T3 was a real pleasant surprise that summer.
EDIT: turns out T3 is at 70% on rottentomatoes. that ain't too bad actually.

hahaha I JUST edited my post, I looked it up too.
70% is pretty good I think for an action movie on RT
The only thing that was good about the previews when I saw them at the movies a while back was that they played The Day the World Went Away. haha
Fuck the critics. I'm still looking forward to this.
Anyone seen it yet?
im going to see it in a few hours, ill def give a review
My friend really wants me to go but I really don't want to.

good dude. i'll probably go friday.
im sorry to bring the bad news. but this movie was really really bad. i could sit here and dog on it in a rant about the many atrocities, but i will spare you the words. do anything BUT see this movie. though i do understand it is a "must" for many fans, just as it was for myself. to be honest i felt like leaving an hour into it but i had to wait through... it's terminator man... but this is a shame to the name
that's hardly a review.
why is it bad?
acting; horrible. Bale realllllyyyy sucked. "arrrgggh look at me and how manly i am! arrrggghhhh!"
script; horrible. i LOL'D the ENTIRE movie
cinematography; just ok. nothiing worth talking about.
action; too much and COMPLETELY unrealistic in any fashion of the word.
plot; nonsensical there was actually NOTHING TO IT. not even much rehashing of the old. just tidbits, like they "had" to or something..
overall ill give this a 2/10 for sheer effort in making some pretty decent action scenes. barely though, -most of them were just dumb -founded on shitastic acting, and impossible predicaments. just poorly executed

Did you not see this based on the previews?
Reviews = opinions. i say see it for yourself.
of course.

Assuming you wanted to see it in the first place. I absolutely love James Cameron's Terminator movies. And the ending of the third one was pretty good too. But I'm tired of everyone treating the Terminator name as a whore to sell tickets. I'd be more interested in this movie if it wasn't a Terminator movie. And a better director. And better story line. Hmmm...
Whatever. Drag Me To Hell and Up come out next weekend. Cannot wait for those.

completely agree. thats why i went and saw it. its terminator, -there's no way i would just say fuck it and not watch it just based on reviews... even if they were all bad.
thats why i didnt wanna rant. you gotta figure it for yourself.

drag me to hell looked good until i saw it was pg-13 i'm tired of movies being dumbed down and softened to reach a bigger market and sell more tickets. horror movies should be rated r damn it!
ok i saw it. and the reviews are pretty spot on. it is a very good action movie, and in that sense i enjoyed it. cinematography was even good. but yes, definitely not one of Bale's better roles, and McG's plot and script were basically garbage.
better than Angels/Demons. way worse than Star Trek.

It's not as bad as most people are saying. It was enjoyable but forgettable.
