i love these guys. i totally understand why alot of people hate the vocals though. "trash flavored trash" is my favorite song by them.

these guys have a whole lot of other bands but none are as good. jaguar love is best/closest to BB.

I guess it's hit or miss with the vocals, but that's one of reasons I love them. The entire "Crimes" and "Young Machetes" are phenominal.
Huge Gold AK-47, Life the Veil Kiss the Tank, Peacock Skeleton are some of my favorites.

Best topic ever.

They were the best. I bet they'll reunite one day, once Jordan and Johnny get on friendly terms again.

I highly recommend Jaguar Love to those still wanting some Blood Brothers-esque music. It's very good.  But yeah, Blood Brothers pwn.

October 20, 2009 – Los Angeles, CA. – Epitaph Records announces plans to re-issue The Blood Brothers’ classic albums “Burn, Piano Island, Burn,” “Crimes,” “Young Machetes” and “March On Electric Children” on November 17. The CD and digital re-issues will include rare previously unavailable live tracks and videos, music videos and B-sides for the ultimate collectors’ edition.

I really miss them.

I used to loveeee this band if anyone can remember.  Now, their vocals really do grate on me.  I don't know if I could listen to an album in its entirety again.  pretty cool re-issues though.

the little Blood Brothers I've heard just annoyed the hell out of me so I've tried to avoid them. several of my friends are fans though.

haha I remember when I've been to one of their last shows. They played this festival, and most people around me didn't really know what to do. Headbanging? Moshing? Standing still? Nothing works to this band, and that is one of the things that make them great.
The intro was Jordan and Johnny screaming alternately, then music was added to this total weirdness. Not only a few people were leaving the audience, it was awesome.

Crimes is a badass album, and yeah the vocals took some getting used to, but now I enjoy all of their albums.

I like Jordan's vocals a lot more than Johnny.  Not to mention Johnny is the biggest fucktard I have ever seen.  What a dbag.

I wanna rip out Johnny's vocal chords. Looks like a douche, sounds like a douche.

It baffles how anyone can stand listening to those vocals.

I'm disappointed with the amount of hate here.  I still enjoy both vocalists.  The energy that they had when they fed off each other was amazing.  I wish I could have seen them live.

I loved them, I almost went to see them just before they split up.  Didn't realise it was their last tour until too late.

Anyone listened to Headwound City?  They've got 2 members of The Locust including Justin Pearson, 2 members of Blood Brothers including one of the singers, and the drummer from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Its pretty hectic and well worth a spin.  It even sounds a bit like a mash of the sounds of there respective bands.

Past Lives is just right because it's Blood Brothers without Johnny.

haha whut? Johnny seems like a super nice guy to me. I've talked to him at shows and he seemed alright to me, the all do.

Neither Jaguar Love nor Past Lives is as good as TBB though. They're both releasing albums now, and I fear that Past Lives will shred all over Jaguar Love, since Jaguar Love is only Johnny + Cody + Drummachine. Maybe a bit too much.

If Jaguar Love needs to do anything, it's change their shit up.  That first album was nonsense.

Jaguar Love's new one is absolutely phenominal. I Started A Fire is totally a 'sequel' of sorts to Set Fire To The Faces On Fire.

Joke? If they lost the gay as hell chiming synth tones and had some REAL FUCKING DRUMS this album would have hope. Not sure why they thought this whole two guys and a drum machine thing was going to work but if fucking doesn't which is a shame because I think these songs could have really been a great follow up to Take Me To The Sea.

on Polaroids and Red Wine the drum machine can get to you, but most of the other tracks are fucking catchy as hell. Sad Parade and Cherry Soda are stuck in my mind right now.

so i'm still listening to the new Jaguar Love on a pretty consistent basis. obviously, i wish they would all re-unite, but this along with Tapestry of Webs is managing to tide me over.

screw you, you haters

New jag is totally whack. I mean, I can't even finish a single song without cringing. Listened to Young Machetes today, great and I guess a somewhat underrated album!

New band with Cody and Mark from the Blood Brothers, Paul from At The Drive-In and some guy from Idiot Pilot. Ross Robinson is producing.

I'm psyched already.

I've been listening to a lot of Blood Brothers lately and Young Machetes never got the love it truly deserved.  Everyone seems to love Burn Piano Island, Burn's dick but Young Machetes might be my favorite Blood Brothers album.

Love that album. Actually 2 of my top 5 Blood Brothers songs are off YM. "Lift the Veil, Kiss the Tank" is a contender for #1, and their swan song "The Giant Swan" is great.

Hahah I think all of us, Blood Brothers fans, are rediscovering Young Machetes! Just this past month I decided to give it a spin since say...2006...boy did I miss out. I actually like the sound/production of this album way more compared to BPIP's polished (albeit still amazing and way ahead of it's time) musicianship. It's raw and gritty without being lo-fi. I think it has their most intense/punk song that I wish I could have circlepitted to..."You're the Dream Unicorn!" Johnny's scream tears my face off during the 2nd chorus. Love it! I feel as if this album should have happened after This Adultery is Ripe.

Although, thats what I love about being able to listen to Blood Brothers' albums. Every one of their albums brings something new to the plate while still maintaining that hardcore/punk sound that not a lot of bands can achieve.

Thanks for the bump, I just copied a few albums by TBB onto my mp3 player.
