Stephen King, the dark tower series is AMAZING. The Gunslinger is my favorite book, but the whole series is fucking great. lovecraft and matheson are great too. Palahniuk is probably my favorite. i know its a bit cliche for the 20 something male to love him ever since fight club (the movie)...but i do, i love all his books and both movies adapted from his books.
Never read him actually. And the Dark Tower series is amazing! I like the Talisman as well and his short stories stand out. Have you seen the Dark Tower comics/graphic novels? Gorgeous.
i have the first graphic novel. and have to wait till x-mas for the second. and i agree they are done really well both art and story. altough from what i've read so far its basically retelling, and going a little more in depth, the 4th books flashback. the talisman and its sequel are really good.
i just read henry miller's "tropic of capricorn" and it was amazing.
