Title: Pop Thread
Post by: Nailec on Sep 08, 2008, 08:35 PM
no well formulated introduction of me here because i dont know anything about the pop genre. some artists i listen from time to time are labeled pop so i think there is actually good pop music out there.

who can recommend Lykke Li? she seems to become pretty big

im really confused to differ between pop and some indie. i mean all the time i thought indie is about not making popular music. but then so many bands labeled indie all have some really catchy melodies that make it pop to my eyes.

zevaka mentioned death cab for cutie. i thought they are labeled indie, too.

it's not indie what you hear on radio (at least not what you OFTEn hear on the radio).
Real indie pop is much more obscure music genre  than you can imagine (another style which is dying after small rise in 90s :()

bands like DCFC (i like them btw) are just pop / pop rock bands, nothing indie in them
