The Deftones are hard at work on their next album, which one source close to the band told Metal File "sounds nothing like what they've done in the past." Eros, which could be out before 2008 expires, will, according to bassist Chi Cheng, be "heavy as f--- with a sh--load of groove. ... I always say this sh--, but I truly believe this album to be well worth the wait and appreciate all your support and kind loyalty." ...
Hells yea
"heavy as f---"
yeah right, just like s/t and SNW were.
We all know the guys always say that shit on every record.
He said the song "Trempest" they are recording is heavy as fuck. Not the album.
"groove" sounds good too. especially if it's a more metal-groove like some modern southern hard rock/metal bands.
either way i'm sure their sound will be awesome.

ouch
Yeah I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. SNW made me like self-titled a lot more. Hopefully the pattern stops there and this next album won't make me like SNW instead of it.
deftones on mtv.com?
funny
White Pony, at the time, sounded like nothing they had ever done before.

yea, no shit. man, for a guy that was listening to them since late 95, i was shocked at how white pony sounded. it knocked me on my ass, it was just so different for them. i didnt know what to think at first. i knew it was good music, but it just took a while to grasp that it was deftones. that was a very interesting time to be a fan
