like my second or third fav off SNW....always here people loving cherry waves or kimdracula but not alot this song, plus they hardly ever played it on tour. Kinda weird considering they released this on myspace after beware. That 2 string main riff makes my head bob ever time....
the song it self is actually quite good, but it sounds very weak and thin like everything else on snw,+ chinos vocals sounds like crap and that
keyboard in the end is fucking annoying.when u hear a liveversion of the song u get a sense of what it could have been with som more heavyness to it
The live demo version (FM) sounded a lot better and heavier than the final song, though I like it a lot, on my SNW top 3.
yea wish i heard the live one..but i thought franks part at the end kinda gave that evil twist to it...
the way rapture goes into beware the water is just amazing.. but yes rapture is great. who made it underrated?
Rapture is great
I love it, it's so... paranoic
One of the best heavy deftones song in my opinion. But the problem is that I don't like how it got translated onto the record. I don't know, the mix sounds strange to my ears. Live is da shit.
would've sounded better in '97.
just saying.

Totally AGREE.
One of the best moments of SNW (there was a post about those moments ;))
good song
well, they don't have a lot of really heavy songs (i can't even find 10)
so, there always will be ppl who love this song or that.
but what about underrating... All sharinglungers loved it when it came out. no underrating. we luv it a lot
im very impressed with the way the song came out..from start to finish..i like the live one but the studio version just kicks it..its heavy as hell and chino is givin it straight to the mic and love how frank contritbutes his part near the end..rapture makes one of the top 5 of the album
yea, rapture is the shit
i thought i read somewhere that chino recorded it in like one take?

yea i remember that
Best song imo.
First song off the album to truly grab my attention and has'nt faded with time like a few of the others.
Killer riffs, killer melodies = me happy.
To me, "Rapture" is one of the most unorthodox songs the Deftones have ever written - up there with the genius, rhythmic trainwreck that is "Hexagram." At first blush, "Rapture" is an ugly song to listen to. Chino's howls sound especially tortured as they collide with Stephen's most angular guitarwork yet. Despite the chaos, it's easy to find the beauty in "Rapture" from the moment Abe opens with his startling drum fill until the point Frank brings us south with his eerie electronics into the digital underworld of "Beware." No doubt Chino's tone and voice fit his lyrical anguish as he despairs "you're just a waste, waste of time".....it's the Deftones at their finest!
That sounds like a cdnow editor review....no offense.
My fav Deftones song ever...Lotion....
Closest hit on SNW...Rapture....
Pretty simple for me but I'm bias.
the production on that song sucks.... it could be better than it is

That's true fella.
very good and aggressive sound imo.
give some tastes about eros project (we already know melanie) i think..
Just listened to it (well listening to it for the 2nd time in a row now)..
One of the hardest Deftones songs on drums probably...
It is pretty underrated. Live version is better though.
I don't think it's underrated at all, almost all of my fellow deftones fans in my area agree its a badass song.
Agreed - great song and a really clever piece of songwriting. It's not your typical song structure with a clear power chorus like something 20STM would do and that's what I love about it.
IMO the whole album SNW is underrated.
30 seconds to mars is underrated too. With that I didn't implied they are music geniuses, though.
