They really make a lot of these songs their own. Lots of choices:
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
Jealous Guy
Savory
Sinatra
Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
No Ordinary Love
Wax & Wane
Simple Man
To Have & To Hold
Nightboat
The Chauffeur
Right Brigade ! Private video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=kQATtYPuwUg#)
Say It Ain't So (and all the other Weezer covers they've done at shows: (Tired Of Sex , El Scorcho, The World Has Turned, In The Garage, etc.)
Milk
Spasmolytic
etc.?
Hard to call.
As for the best cover of a Deftones song, onelinedrawing's mind blowing version of BQAD really sticks out: onelinedrawing - Be Quiet and Drive [Deftones cover] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN8IF4M0n7s#)
Actually so many are so good...
I love jealous guy, simple man, IOTWCS, THATH, and no ordinary love... oh and subliminal / right brigade from back in the day...

I love nearly all the Deftones Covers, And I love that they don't relase them on their main albums (Or haven't so far).
Most can can cover a song and make it a single, and gain popularity through familiarity, but these guys don't play out like that, and thats one of many reasons I love the Deftones.
I really love the Chauffer, Drive and No Ordinary Love, because they sound so sweet.
Somewhere along the line i found a cover of Depeche Modes "Sweetest Perfection" and it sounds kinda crappy, I'm sure its the Deftones,
I bought an old bootleg years ago with the song on there, and have since found it on multiple file sharing sites, But i cant seem to find it's origin, I've never seen it listed on the Linus tapes, and other demo's, So when and where was this song first located on.
And does anyone know where to find the "Best" version of it Quality wise, like a lossless source (Flac perhaps), Because that song is one of my fav DP songs, and i like the way the deftones treat it......So does Anyone wanna help a longtime Deftones fan out? :)
right brigade, that's my fav

a better version for the track hasn't circulated through the net yet. We all have the crappy mp3. I Really doubt a .flac could help very much in this case. For your interest, the song was recorded at the pus cavern in sacto at '97, and then cassetes with this and a few other covers was given away by a french radio station.
Sweetest perfection, The Chaffeur, and To have and To hold. those are my favorite covers, they just have such a nice broody atmosphere
subliminal
IOTWCS
and the short south of heaven cover.
Simple Man
If Only Tonight and To Have and to Hold
Nightboat, Chaffeur and Simple Man also good good
the chauffeur
simple man
jealous guy

Weezer - So Tired
As said previously..the brief Slayer cover...
Sade, Any Cure & Smiths covers
All the Badbrains covers and I assume but not sure..which are the reggae covers they've done?? I think there are 2 or 3...correction please? :-\
eminem cover i've heard also.
the chauffeur
Thats the one song the Deftones covered that I didn't care for as the original song, by Duran Duran. The Deftones made it awesome. Chino sang it spot on.
Run to the Hills
Purple Rain
El Scorcho
Wax And Wane
Say It Aint so

If Chino sang it spot on, then how did you not like the original?
I love the chauffer. i think when deftones covered it it sounded better, crisper, cleaner and most of all heavier.
jelous guy :)

Have you heard the original? Chino sounded just like dude from Duran Duran, but the way Deftones remade it sounded better.

I love Duran Duran... and I love the way they did Chauffeur. With that said, I'd take Deftones version hands down over the original. Chino does sound pretty spot on to Simon... but there is so much more to the song than just the vocals! Deftones version gives it a little more of a "rock" feel. And cmon' Chino's "Singgggggggggggggg Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuue Silverrrrrrrrrrrrr" FTW.
Aside from this song my other Deftones covers are
No Ordinary Love and Savory
the chauffer that cover rocks!
Both Duran Duran covers are brilliant, inspired when realised as heavy songs.

Yea, thats what I was saying: The Chauffeur was originally not a song I really liked, it was electronic and wierd. Then Deftones made it a "Rock" song, and totally owned it. I love Duran Duran tho, not a fan of their original.
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep & The Chauffeur
The Chauffeur, Simple Man and Drive are my favourites :]
No Ordinary Love was pretty amazing when they played that in Manchester in 2006 as well.
nothing even comes close. to have and to hold.
if only tonight we could sleep
i like their smiths cover, flows well, short and sweet.
to have and to hold (L)
The BEST is The Chauffeur
then it would be as follows:
Nightboat
To Have and To Hold
No Ordinary Love
Sinatra
Sweetest Perfection (crappy mp3, but lovely one)
Jealous Guy
Milk (or I want milk, it's a cover? I just love it!)
And nobody mentioned Sleep Walk... it's a very good one...!!!
But I like every cover they have made, they made it in their own original way!
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep - this one was extremely great!
sinatra

I'm proud of having seem them here in Mexico (Feb, 07) when they played a pretty fucking good version of No Ordinary Love.... All the fucking crowd was singing along!!! what a memorable moment!!!
No ordinary love or If Only tonight we could sleep...
I want sex with chino ::)
the chauffeur
sweetest perfection
no ordinary love
sweetest perfection and to have and to hold
have any of you noticed that chino's ability to mimmick other singers is truly insane?...
Nope.
necro bump
To have to hold
I love love love love love this cover.
If only tonite we could sleep.
I really like The Chauffeur. No Ordinary Love is great too.
the chauffeur and Drive are my favorites
No Ordinary Love is pretty cool too, they nailed that one...
how about Say it Aint So?? lol... that was pretty cool
"Do You Believe" is a super solid cover i think. They did it their own way without copying the original
To have and to hold would probably be my favorite cover they do.
I've taken a huge liking to the Deftones version of "Caress".
That would be my favorite cover from them.
Simple Man is a good cover too.
to have and to hold... simple man...
Black Hole Sun .............jk to have and to hold
I think Jealous Guy is pretty solid. JL would be proud of the guys (maybe even jealous)

...A jealous guy.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simple Man is a very impressive cover. When you take into account the original and then a band like Deftones covering a song like that. They did it in their own way, and Chino's vocals are so good. I was shocked when I first heard it.
Their covers are (for the most part) pretty solid. I love Sinatra, Savory, To Have and To Hold, & If Only Tonight We Could Sleep as well
Studio:
1. The Chauffuer
2. Simple Man
3. If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
Live:
1. South of Heaven
2. Right Brigade
3. El Scorcho (Live)
My favorite is Please,Please,Please. To have and to hold is a killer one as well.If only tonight is a beast to.

That's a good one too. and ya know, most of their covers stay pretty faithful to the original - but Please, Please - they really do their own take of that song.
Love the version of Drive (The cars)
Got to categorize them otherwise It'd be just insane to name even just a few or one if you will.
Darkish Atmosphere : Sinatra - They made it such a classic it's one of my favorites of all time and has S/T Feel all the way.
Loveish Atmosphere: No Ordinary Love - Jonah's parts make it very much competetive to otherwise unmatched Sade, the Production is awesome all around anyway.
Strangeish Atmosphere: Ghosts - Got to be this it sounded so out of this deftonesworld.
Heavyish Atmosphere: Subliminal - just because it is so much of the early Deftones alike, the Drive Like Jehu Cover wasn't bad either but Chino seemed to overrun himself.
To Have and To Hold for me they did a good song great it sounds so sarcastic when Chino sings, also i love the main riff
